We installed asphalt speed bumps and contrasting markings along a commercial property’s vehicle approach. The work paired a raised pavement profile with clear warning bands so drivers could recognize the feature as they moved through the site.
Making the approach easier to recognize
The speed bumps sit along the drive near the service bays, with yellow bands providing contrast against the asphalt. A nearby directional arrow adds another cue for drivers using the approach.
We consider the physical feature and its supporting markings together. The location, visibility, and vehicle route all affect how a traffic-calming treatment fits the property.
Starting with the traffic problem
When we assess a similar project, we ask where vehicles are moving too quickly and how that affects the people using the site. We review the drive aisle, turns, drainage, walking routes, and access for delivery and emergency vehicles before recommending an option.
