Newly installed asphalt speed bump with fresh white markings in a Pensacola parking lot

We replaced a deteriorated speed bump at a Pensacola apartment complex as part of a broader parking lot refresh. Our work brought together pavement repairs, sealcoating, new markings, and a renewed traffic-calming feature along the residential drive.

Residents use this pavement every day to reach their homes, park, and walk through the property. We wanted the finished work to give them a clearer, more orderly approach while addressing the worn areas that needed attention.

Rebuilding the approach

Our crew removed the old speed bump and prepared the area for its replacement. We coordinated the surrounding crack and pothole repairs with the surface treatment, then refreshed the parking and traffic markings. The contrasting bands across the speed bump help drivers recognize it as they approach.

Looking at the whole drive

A replacement speed bump needs to fit the property around it. When we review a similar project, we consider vehicle movement, drainage, nearby walking routes, and access for delivery and emergency vehicles before recommending the location and profile.

We also review the surrounding pavement. If the asphalt beside the bump is failing or the parking lines are difficult to follow, addressing those needs together can make the work more useful to the property than replacing the bump alone.
